Last night I finished "Mark Twain's Book for Bad Boys and Girls" (thanks Griffin!). It was highly entertaining and full of good little things and stories. Before each chapter, the editor put a couple of clever Twain quotes that pertained to the subject of the following chapter. I can't say I agreed with all of them, but they all most definitely represent the childlike state of mind Twain wrote from. Here are some of these gems:
Truth is the most valuable thing we have. Let us economize it.
Do your duty today and repent tomorrow.
Work and play are words used to describe the same thing under differing conditions.
It is better to take what does not belong to you than to let it lie around neglected.
Always acknowledge a fault frankly. This will throw those in authority off their guard and give you an opportunity to commit more.
A sin takes on new and real terrors when there seems a chance that it is going to be found out.
Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.
Be respectful to your superiors, if you have any.
Let us endeavor so to live that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry.
We can't reach old age by another man's road. My habits protect my life but they would assassinate you.

I love all these - especially those that reflect a great deal of truth. The last one there is almost biblical.

Media highlights-
Borrowed two Decemberist cd's... Picaresque and The Crane Wife. Been enjoying those in the car for the last couple days.
Discovered that Jon Foreman has 4 EPs... Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer. I love his voice immensely.
Borrowed "The Quiet Man" from Jazzy today (John Wayne). It's a oldie and a goldie...looking forward to finding some time this week to watch it. I love old movies. (John Wayne not so much...but we'll see).
Leonard Cohen Pandora radio station - try it!
Bought two Manhattan Transfer records in Santa Barbara on Tuesday. One is a live album, the other is "Extensions". Now I just need a player! Ryon promised me that I could come over this week and pick one up, plus any records from his collection that I'd like. Looking forward to that. :)

Today was great - two grad parties back to back! The first was fancy and dancy...and great fun. We had everything from big band swing to Frank Sinatra to Goo Goo Dolls and The Cars. The second was just chill - played a lot of volleyball, and named our team "Star Balls" (Star Wars). I was Chewballa. =P
